Vegetarians Fed Life Insurance Carrot

November 16, 2009 by

Summary
An innovative new insurance product has been introduced by Animal Friends Insurance (AFI). The new insurance plan offers cheap premiums to vegetarians, based on evidence that they are at a lower risk than their carnivorous counterparts of developing certain health conditions. It remains to be seen whether other insurers will follow the policy introduced by AFI .

A no-profit insurance business has marketed a scheme which offers egg eaters and vegetarians a reduced cost life insurance quote .

The offer, thought to be the 1st of its kind, is being pioneered by Animal Friends Insurance (AFI). The firm is offering non-meat eaters a seven per cent lower priceon life assurance premiums
The organisation claimed that vegetarians ought to pay a lesser sum for the insurance, which pays out if the plan holder were to die, because they were more unlikely to suffer from a selection of serious conditions, including some cancers.

Amanda Jude, A senior director at Animal Friends Insurance, claims that the risk of veggies being diagnosed with certain cancers is shrunk by up to 42% and the danger of them suffering from heart disease is cut by up to 30 per cent, but despite this they have, until now, had to pay broadly the same insurance premiums as policyholders who eat meat.
She says that AFI believe that this is not fair and says the life insurance industry should recognise the idea that being a vegetarian can make have a big influence on life expectancy and reduce its monthly premiums accordingly.

A normal arrangement is also on the market for meat eaters. Both insurance plans are underwritten by LV=, which used to be known as Liverpool Victoria.

In common with normal life plans, a range of things contribute to the cost of the premiums including whether the applicant smokes, their age, weight and sex.

Currently at the moment, AFI is funding the seven per cent discount itself from the money it earns from from LV=. In the future, however, the firm’s objective was to offer lower costs on specialist cover. In offering the price reduction the business is hoping to sign up enough vegetarians to make it worthwhile for LV= to underwrite another plan that takes the vegetarian’s diet into account.

Indeed there are significant savings to be made, a 38 year oldnon-smoker purchasing £300,000 worth of insurance cover might potentially save £393.60 over a twenty year period.

Where serious illness insurance is concerned, AFI considers that life insurance companies should try to treat people that eat meat and people that don’t eat meat in a way that is similar to the way they view those that don’t smoke and those that do. Perhaps others in the insurance industry will take the same initiative.

Some managersin the insurance industry are dismissive that there is robust proof that vegetarians live longer, and how any life insurer could prove that applicants who had stated that they were vegetarian did not savour the occasional rump steak.

It’s true that when it comes to smoking there are GP records – if you do smoke it’s probable that your GP will know. However, this is unlikely to apply when it comes to eating meat, an said a spokesperson from the insurance industry.

But many veggetarians say that they are not concerned about people falling off the vegetarian wagon and suggested that once a vegetarian has become a vegetarian, they do not go back to meat-eating, that’s unlike smokers who tend to drift in and out of their habit.

You need to 'sell' them on the benefits, not the product. That's as simple as it is. You need to focus on what the product does for the family, not what the product is. Focus on the concept and "problem" more than the solution/product. I have a lot of my clients that don't realize they bought "life insurance"…but they own a pre-paid funeral plan or a pre-paid estate tax plan for example. Don't get me wrong, when they sign the paperwork they fully understand it's a life insurance policy, but in their mind they aren't buying life insurance, they are pre-paying taxes and such.

Life insurance is ALWAYS a tough sell on people though. People will never experience the benefits of insurance becuase the person insured will be dead when the benefits/value is realized. Some people will not see value in insurance and you can't please everyone, no matter how much you beleive in the cause. Ask them if they own a toilet plunger or a spare tire. Most will say yes. Then ask them if they bought those before they needed it or if they bought it with the intentions of using it immediately. Insurance is like a toilet plunger. You never see the value in it and it just sits there and does nothing until you use it and need it. And when you actually need it, it's too late to buy it, but you'd likely pay ANY thing to have it.

The best spokes man commercials which would make sense would involve transition from oil.

Also about peak oil. I note you wrote the commercial did not make sense hence suggestion on what will. No awards to spokes men if message not understood.

She is awesome. Thankfully this clip will outlive everyone here as a testament to the shame of Zionists. Real Jews have nothing to do with Zionism and are rightfully disgusted by it all and this clip clearly illustrates why. BTW, if the Israelis who rant here about “killing this bitch” (which also clearly shows the cowardly out of control murderous mentality of Zionists), I suggest they make her Netanyahu’s new psychiatrist. That lying pig’s babble would make anyone kill themselves. Search it.

This is interesting. I recently read a book that reminded me about this blog post. A book called The Worst Kind of Lies. The author, John Patrick Lamont, draws upon fourteen years of experience working within the life insurance industry to write his novels. “The Worst Kind of Lies” reads more truth than fiction.
You never know what kind of Lies you will come across in the corporate world will you!

health insurance premiums increased by 6.1 percent, above official measures of inflation and well beyond the increase in average salary and wages to American workers.
While selecting an affordable medical insurance plan that has great coverage can be a difficult task, especially in the current state of the economy, our health is still our most valuable asset and it is very important to protect it as much as possible.]]>
