Values in the Mountains

There is nothing like the summer time in the Rocky mountains. An area that is well known for the winter time activities is actually more appealing in the summer time. Activities such as hunting, golfing, hiking, biking, fishing, and shopping are enjoyed by millions of people each year. The ability to enjoy concerts, picnics, bbqs, etc… outside is just something you cannot do in the winter. The lack of humidity and bugs is also agreat releif for people coming from the midwest or east coast.
Golfing in Colorado is a great experience. Many courses are embedded in the mountains and offer views you will never get anywere else. Most likely you will also see spectacular mountain real estate and wildlife. Don’t be suprised either when your ball goes 10% – 15% farther due to the high altitude.
Hunting in Colorado is usually a fall activity however there are places in Colorado where the hunting is truly amazing. There are hunting ranches that allow you to rent the cabins and hunt the private property. Outfitters are also in abundance but charge quite a fee.
The fishing is also incredible for avid fisherman. You can expect to catch a variety of Rainbow, Brook, and Brown trout in the streams of the Rocky Mountains.
Shopping in Colorado is not too much different than anywhere else except when it comes the mountain real estate. Great real estate investments in Colorado are available these days. The prices have adjusted to a point where it makes great sense to get property that has a world class location.

1) you report income when the CD was called, so it should be reported in 2008… with that being said, individual taxpayers pay taxes on cash basis, so if you actually received it in 2009, you could make an argument for 2009. i am hoping someone will follow up and correct me.
2) if the credit union didn't send you any paper work, how could you tell the additional amount was for interest? let's say your CD was 10,000 and your got 9,200 back. i think it is a loss of 800 rather than a loss of 1000 and interest income of 200.
i don't know how insurance policies work oversea, but according to the fact pattern you described, i think insurance meant if the CD has gone bad, you will get 90% of your money back from the insurer. but since it was called, i think the amount you received was a return of investment.
3) to report the loss, you would just go on your schedule D and input the information of the CD. in terms of paperwork, i think if you could show the par value of the CD and the amount you received back, that would be sufficient evidence to me.
4) statute of limitation- IRS has 3 years to audit your return and assess additional taxes if your return was prepared with errors. 6 years if you omitted more than 25% of your gross income. and if you prepared your return with intention to deceive (fraud) or you just didn't prepare a return, then the statute does not expire.
so generally you need to retain your records for 3 years if the other limitations do not apply to you.
Opps. unbelievable, this much of variations in Global world debt rates, how a country can survive with lower economy. Many of my friends often talk about good debt consolidation company, i realize now. why they need it so much and curious to know about.

I got my copy in the mail early, so did my friend. We compared them and the PS3 have better detail.

Yeah, take a side trip to look at property. It infuriates me that Scrushy has a spare dime to spend on trips to Disney World and maybe a few real estate investments when so many HealthSouth employees and shareholders are still paying for his financial shenanigans. And one does have to wonder why he gets to travel around the country while awaiting sentencing. Somehow I can't see the average small-time drug dealer having such privileges.

that the true value of a property is based on its potential to cash flow. Why? About 34% of all residentialreal estate transactions last 3 years have been investment/vacation/retirement homes. But the remaining 66%are bought as an alternative to sleeping on the ground…and having a place to plug ones appliances into….just a placeto live….not an investment, so potential roi or cashflow is irrelevant just as it is when buying a toaster, tuna fish sandwich, etc. Their value is set by a different standard….what an alternative to the desired item can be purchased for and theircomparitive desirability to the purchaser. In markets like Summit County, where rental income is sought by 60% of owners, you are right !…..but none even come close now to cash flow with 20% down, and they are still flying off the shelves !partly because we are still in a very rare rising local market, and partly because folks realize it is an increasingly scarcecomodity and that goes back to my point….the alternative mountain real estate is also just as pricey.]]>
Dustin, if you like classic New England.
Do this trip on a Harley or an old Triumph!
~~ Head for the north west corner of Connecticut!
To the 18th-century village of Litchfield.
With it's village green, white-steepled church and maple-shaded streets, it's a real slice of American history.
This beautiful part of the country is just 100 miles from New York City and 35miles from Hartford.
The area (known locally as the Litchfield Hills) has many classic New England villages, country inns, stone-walled fields, vineyards, gardens and beautiful views of hills, valleys, rivers and lakes.
Just west of Litchfield is the village of Kent, known for it's art and antique galleries and covered bridges.
It is a great area to discover by any mode of transport.
But as anyone (whom has watched Easy Rider 12 times) will attest to, it is way better on a motorcycle.
~~ Another great ride is Maine's ragged coastline. Small quaint fishing villages and lighthouses are to be found dotted along it.
~~ If you like to ride in isolation, head to The Outer Banks of North Carolina.
On a 100mile ride from Kitty Hawk to Okracoke (where the road ends) a rider can enjoy long stretches of undisturbed beach and some unusual landmarks.
The Wright Brother's National Memorial and the highest sand dunes on the east coast at Jockey's Ridge State Park.
A favourite with kite-flyers and hang-gliders.
~~ If you want to head a little further inland, visit Lancaster County in Pennsylvania.
Beautiful Amish settlements, many, many covered bridges, B&B's, spectacular scenery!
A link to what this county has to offer:
~~ In Vermont, follow Highway 100 as far as it goes up the centre of the state.
It's beautiful most of the way!
~~ The far north of New Hampshire is also worth a trip. Especially in Autumn!
You have many places you could visit!
