Using Forums for Traffic

In places like forums, article directories, answer sites and social bookmarking sites you can also establish yourself as an expert. When you submit an article to an article directory you can establish yourself as an expert by demonstrating what you know about a certain subject.
You would basically write you knowledge down and people will see it. Answer sites, forums and social bookmark sites let you do the same thing. Answer sites basically have people looking for an answer and if you answer there question in a helpful way, they are likely to visit your site. Social bookmark sites can be a great way for traffic as well but I have found what works best on social bookmarking sites for traffic is stuff that is highly entertaining stuff. High entertaining things could include funny sites, picture sites, video sites, celeb news, opinionated sites, news sites and things with fast changing content. It doesn’t mean that people won’t visit your site if it’s not entertaining, those are just observations we’ve made. I’ve noticed sites that offer valuable content do well too.
Keep in mind make sure your site always shares valuable content that your readers will like and you can watch your sales grow. Many forums can offer you some good traffic as well. Basically people ask questions in forums and again you can offer your expertise. If you offer great value from a post you do in a forum you might get a visitor and ultimately a sale out of that person. You’ll watch this get covered in the videos. Forums also allow you to make a connection with someone and they better they trust you the more likely they are to buy from you.

Mark writes in with a story about how some newspapers are apparently jacking up the prices they charge for death notices (via The Consumerist). The original author balked at paying the SF Chronicle $450 for a 182-word death notice, calling it an exploitation of people who, when dealing with a death, will simply swallow it and pay up. That might be a little extreme, but clearly death notices are an area where papers can try to make up revenues they’ve lost in their classifieds and other areas. The key word here is “try” — by jacking up the cost of death notices, the plan seems to be to replace lots of people paying newspapers a little bit of money with a few people paying them a lot. Which makes perfect sense, right? The problem is that papers are assuming that death notices are something people will keep paying for blindly, when, like so many other parts of their business, they appear to be living on borrowed time. Lastly, once you do download it, it is extremely difficult to get it to run! I've never done it, but I have a friend who is an expert with the computer who tried it and he couldn't figure it out! It's very diffcult!
