Ok I think we all know by now that the economy as we know it or should I say as we’ve known it is gone forever. The days of working for one company for 20,30 years is no longer fesible in today’s working world.I never understood why anyone would even want to work for one company that long anyway.I mean life’s to short where’s the variety,I do understand the being safe and secure part, but if you’re not willing to take a risk every now and then what’s the use.

Enter the wonderful world of technology, web 2.0 and social media, man these are great times to be living. It is now possible for anyone from anywhere on the planet to start a online home based business from the comfort of there home. All that’s needed is a internet connection maybe a cell phone all though not required and a disire to be an entrepreneur. It has become so easy in fact with turn key business opportunities such as Carbon Copy Pro that even the non-techie type like myself can experience great success using the internet.

So as the offline economy continues its downward trend the e-economy or online economy will continue to grow by leaps and bounds. The internet is proving that unprecedented opportunities await those how are willing to take advantage and embrace this new technology based economy. And the opportunities will only continue to grow as technology moves forward at lighting speed. If you haven’t yet discovered how important it has become to at least have a website for your business, don’t be surprized if you wake up one day and the online revolution has passed you by.This is Kevin Thomas, thanks for reading.

Just last week, we wrote about the possible benefits of mobile dating, the most attractive of which is plain and simple convenience. But at the warp speed at which technology moves, this is suddenly not convenient enough for us anymore. Why get your man off an iPhone app or the Internet when you can more easily get him off a conveyor belt?

Creating/controlling fire, water, wind and earth is already possible through machinery to a certain degree (flamethrowers, fire engines, fans, bulldozers), so it would be impractical to try to manipulate these things through supernatural means or through genetic modification because it's simply too expensive. You will never see anybody with powers like you see in "Avatar: The Last Airbender" because of this impracticality.

Controlling computers has been possible since the advent of computing (you were doing this when you were asking that question), and computers do not "speak" like people unless they are designed to. It is possible to deactivate computers without direct access through strong magnets and EMPs.

It may be possible to create a non-aging human being (to a certain degree – the universe will not last forever) by many means, but nobody has done this so far, and it is something of great concern because overpopulation would become even more of a problem than it already is. However, a human being that cannot be destroyed by any means is impossible.

Mind control may be possible, but this would be very difficult. It's almost certainly not possible to genetically modify a human being to have mind control powers, you would need computers and machinery to accomplish this.

Seeing through walls is already possible with certain types of machinery and is almost certainly possible through genetic modification. Walking through walls is possible, but not without destroying the wall!

Healing quickly is already possible to some degree, but right now it is probably more realistic to put research into creating artificial limbs than find some way to completely regenerate them. Stem cells would allow the regeneration of some parts of the body, but reattaching major limbs is not something we are likely to see any time soon.

Dislocating your limbs and relocating them is something that some people are already capable of, but I don't know why you'd want to do that, it would be very painful. Taking bones out of your body would be extremely painful and I don't know why you would want to do that, since you would need to destroy your skin and flesh irreversibly.

Screaming "very fricken loudly" is definitely possible and already attainable through machinery (never been to a rock concert?) and I expect that it is attainable through genetic modification too.

It is probably possible to give a person "super powers" through genetic modification, but you would need to start this process before conception. Attaining powers in adulthood as Spiderman or the Hulk did isn't practical.

A lot of science fiction is written to give an insight as to how super powers would work in real life and the problems/benefits attached to them. Go to your local library and try to find some.

Actual letter sent to a newspaper:

    Dear Editor,

During my shift in the Emergency Room last night, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient whose smile revealed an expensive shiny gold tooth, whose body was adorned with a wide assortment of elaborate and costly tattoos, who wore a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and who chatted on a new cellular telephone equipped with a popular R&B ring-tone.

While glancing over her patient chart, I happened to notice that her payer status was listed as “Medicaid”! During my examination of her, the patient informed me that she smokes more than one costly pack of cigarettes every day and somehow still has money to buy pretzels and beer.

And, you and our Congress expect me to pay for this woman's health care? I contend that our nation's “health care crisis” is not the result of a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses. Rather, it is the result of a “crisis of culture”, a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on luxuries and vices while refusing to take care of one's self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance. It is a culture based in the irresponsible credo that “I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me”.

Once you fix this “culture crisis” that rewards irresponsibility and dependency, you'll be amazed at how quickly our nation's health care difficulties will disappear.

    Respectfully,
    STARNER JONES, MD
