Awareness Bracelet Craze

Ever since Lance Armstrong started the silicone wristband craze with the release of his yellow LIVESTRONG wristbands, millions of people worldwide have discovered a new and effective method of supporting their favorite causes. Today, there is almost every color imaginable to be found on these ubiquitous silicone bracelets each one performing their part in raising awareness for a multitude of diseases and causes. What does the future hold for this latest fad to take our society (and a plethora of others worldwide) by storm?

Fashionable Fad

Although silicone wristbands have become incredibly popular, it is exceptionally difficult to argue that they are the height of fashion. Even with the cachet factor, it is essential to remember that they are made of rubber. Very few consumers are choosing to wear their awareness bracelets to the ball or senior prom. However, this does not translate into these wristbands as being unfashionable either. Indeed, silicone wristbands have become a fashionable fad.

A fad, by definition, is a short-lived fashion something that is embraced very enthusiastically for a short time, especially by many people. Undoubtedly, many people have enthusiastically embraced silicone bracelets. But, just how short lived is this awareness bracelet craze?

From Fad to Mainstay

Simple market analysis reveals to us a dichotomy in the silicone wristband industry. Retail sales are beginning to lag, yet manufacturers are producing silicone bracelets in record quantities, with no end in sight. How is this possible? Simple. The fad is fading but a new, effective, and inexpensive mainstay has taken its place the custom silicone wristband. Silicone bracelets have already proven themselves effective for fundraising. Now, their fully customized cousins are proving even more effective at targeting a variety of smaller causes, and they are making a dramatic push into corporate promotions and trade shows. Custom silicone wristbands are being adopted by small non-profit organizations, large corporations, and everything in between as a powerful tool for spreading their message, promoting their brand, and announcing new products or even entirely new businesses. Is the key chain a fad? Is the coffee mug, pen, calendar, mouse pad, or T-shirt a fad? No, these items are here to stay. Custom silicone wristbands are here to stay as well. Customized bracelets are more than just a simple promotional or fundraising item. They are walking billboards. Human nature dictates that we share anything that we have received free with practically everyone we meet. If we have purchased a custom silicone wristband to support our local sports team, church youth group, or favorite small charity, human nature often dictates that we share this good deed as well.

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is that custom silicone wristbands can and will be used by all types of organizations large and small. They are an inexpensive and incredibly effective marketing tool that puts an exciting twist on word of mouth advertising and viral marketing. Organizations are beginning to realize that an investment of mere pennies per wristband has the potential to reach dozens of prospective customers with each fully customized bracelet introduced into their target market. In addition, local schools, churches, and small non-profit organizations recognize the benefits of bolstering school spirit or spreading their message while raising funds at the same time. So, if you are looking for the silicone bracelet fad to fade any time soon, look again. Custom silicone wristbands are not only here to stay, you can expect to see even more of them as everyone from small local churches to huge corporate conglomerates jump on board. With the possible combination of colors, messages, designs, and even sizes being infinite, creative minds everywhere will be looking to harness the power of the custom silicone wristband.

Ipod Nano: It is easy to be pleased

October 24, 2009 by · 6 Comments

Initially, the IPod Nano may look a little daunting; this is most especially if you’ve browsed through a lot of the articles intended for its evaluation. Its size did not become a hindrance for Apple to integrate many new features. However, you have to remember that the iPod Nano is still a member of the iPod family and it offers the same user-friendliness that most of these gadgets have. Although it has been revamped and is packaged like it is a different player altogether, it still has the same feel that you get with your past iPods. The only difference is that it is extremely cooler!

Are you a total “dumbo” in the gadgets’ department, specifically in players? Fret not because no matter how new you are to this whole thing or even a complete stranger in being a music enthusiast, the IPod Nano’s layout is so idiot-proof, manageable and well-ordered that the minute you start using it, you will perfectly feel at home right away.

Ipod Nano is most definitely more trouble-free to operate. It has an interface that will stare at you and walk with you in your “getting to know you process” with the Nano. We haven’t even started at the fact that holding it is probably the most convenient thing that you’ll ever do. You don’t even need the backlight due to the amazing illumination of the very vivid and colorful 16-bit, 172 by 132 pixel color display. You want more? You can even browse through your photos while listening to your music, hassle-free. Thin is definitely good with the iPod Nano, it looks better and it fits the user better. It is one of the most well-crafted and well-designed gadgets of all time!

Let us look at its software interface. The iPod Nano, as said in the earlier paragraphs generally has the same feel and look, as other iPod gadgets. It has a menu that may be customized and the standard Music, Photos, Shuffle, Settings and Now Playing fields. A stopwatch and a screen lock have been brilliantly added to the package. It is the epitome of ease especially with its practical interface items like podcasts and audiobooks, a wonderful color screen and an inviting Click Wheel.

How Long Does It Take To Learn Spanish?

September 30, 2009 by · 16 Comments

I am often asked, “how long does it take to learn Spanish?” I’m afraid that this is largely a million-dollar question and one for which there is no universal answer.

Sadly there are simply far too many variables concerned, in that so much relies on how much effort a person is willing to put into studying the language, and also which method or program they’ll be using. Add to that the incontrovertible fact that while some scholars may opt to use the services of a personal mentor, others will choose a classroom environment instead. Actually, some scholars will rather opt for using one or other home study program which makes use of books, multimedia, software, and audio recordings. You also need to ask whether the person will be learning the language in a place where it’s spoken as the local language, or whether they’ll be learning it in their home country. Furthermore, the standard of a program or the experience of a teacher will also influence the outcome.

Because these variables will have such a direct impact on how long does it take to learn Spanish, it is just not feasible to provide a simple response to this question. In fact, I have personally met individuals who after six months, were able to communicate confidently in conversational Spanish, but also , I’ve known individuals who have studied the Spanish language for a period of years, frankly on an on and off basis, and yet after many years they can barely get by.

Rather than attempting to offer a generic answer to this question, I would prefer to respond with what I feel to be the fastest way of learning Spanish. The most important step of all, is for a person to take advantage of each possible opportunity with regards to interacting in the language they wish to learn, regardless of what language that could be.

While you certainly do get those who are firm believers in the lecture room approach, I personally feel it takes too long unless it is done in association with another strategy. To my mind, a self study strategy of high quality is by far superior in that it allows a student to move forward at their own speed instead of being tied down to the average classroom pace. This is especially true regarding scholars who are really intent on learning the Spanish language.

In this case, I might suggest a person to go for a reputable program which includes a selection of audio lessons, multimedia lessons, and of course, written Spanish. In addition, they should select a program which allows for lessons to be downloaded onto a mobile device so that they can listen on their iPod for example. Remember, if you’re serious about learning a language, then you should aim for having the ability to not only speak it and write it, but also to read it and understand it. Unless a program covers all 4 of these areas, it needs to be avoided or at least, you may require some extra material.

As you could have already heard, Rocket Spanish is an intensely well-liked program, and not without reason. Considering that it addresses all four of the area’s mentioned, it has gained a name for providing students with a first[ class foundation for basic Spanish which in turn will make sure that you are able to speak confidently in Spanish inside a comparatively short space of time. Likewise, Rosetta Stone is understood to be just as good, in that it also addresses the 4 areas mentioned above. Furthermore, it is available in two versions so that scholars can choose between the “Spain” version and the South American Spanish version. Judging by testimonials, it would seem the Rosetta Stone program takes a little longer to work thru, which of course means it will take you a little longer before you develop conversational Spanish but in general, it ranks right up there with Rocket Spanish. Also, Rosetta Stone is considerably costlier.

As you can see, there are too many variables concerned for me or anyone else to be able to give a simple response regarding “how long does it takes to learn Spanish. However, you’ve doubtless also gathered by this time that there are many things you can do in order to hurry up the method. Actually, many people go as far as using both the programs discussed in conjunction with each other in order to develop conversational talents as quickly as possible. However, unless you are steadily exposed to the Spanish language, no program will be capable of making you a hundred percent smooth. On the other hand, providing you are at an intermediate-to-advanced level, you could consider subscribing to Puerta del Sol Audio magazine which is a Spanish language skills Magazine. Furthermore, you’d be surprised at how much you can benefit from joining a Meetup group in your area that focuses on learning the Spanish language.
