I&#039;m not certain, but I believe there is a way to have Apple not send you any emails once you set up an Apple account. I know this works when you set up an Apple Store account, and when you register your computer online.
As for getting notices about Apple products you&#039;ve purchased, I&#039;ve never bothered with email notices (and that&#039;s with using Macs since they were first introduced &quot;eons&quot; ago.) When you get your Mac set up, simply set the preference for Software Update to a schedule you feel comfortable with, and you&#039;ll find out about software fixes or updates soon enough.
Also, if you use an RSS reader (try NetNewsWire Lite or Vienna, both of which are free; or you can use Safari), Apple has a few RSS feeds that are worth tracking for product announcements and technical notes.
