You do realize that most people with their knickers in a knot over Quebec City want the arena to NOT get any federal funding right?
I'd say that in this climate you WANT taxpayers focused on the Quebec City shenanigans and ignoring the Saskatchewan plans! If people start focusing on the Saskatchewan plans I think I can promise that it won't be to argue that Regina should get MORE public funding.
I will take the time to listen to anything the Governor General says when she has the courtesy to speak to the 95% of English speaking Canadians in English. This may be a “bi-lingual country” but try to convince anyone in Quebec 10 kms outside of Montreal or Quebec City of that “fact”. Quebec is not Canada, thank you. When she is done squawking about Haiti, maybe she could pay some attention to Canada, there are people here losing their homes, starving and dying on the streets.

ABOUT THAT MICHIGAN PIPELINE LEAK
I'll have to look this up, but I think that Enbridge is one of the companies pushing to build a pipeline form the Athabasca Tar Sands to northern British Columbia, terminating at Prince Rupert. At the Port of Prince Rupert, oil tankers would on-load the oil, then head to China.
If the oil companies and oil services companies get their way, the pipeline would cross HUNDREDS of streams and rivers in some of the most beautiful areas of northern BC. First Nations peoples and environmental groups have warned repeatedly against such a pipeline.
Wonder who'll prevail? I think we know.]]>
