Keep That Holiday Tan With A Sunbed

February 15, 2009 by

There’s something about having a tan that makes people feel good about themselves. It’s no wonder that so many of us are keen to prolong the sun kissed look of summer.

One way to do this is by using a sunbed. With just a few minutes once or twice a week it’s easy to top up the tan that reminds us so much of our happy summer holiday abroad. Sunbeds are also great for those going on holiday if you don’t want to spend the first few days of your vacation showing off lily white skin.

Like most things moderation is the key to using sunbeds and by sticking closely to the guidelines sunbed manufacturers lay down, you will be able to have the tan that you desire without risking damage to your skin. A few tips for using sunbeds are -

Know your skin type. The fairer your skin the longer it will take to build up your tan. Slow and gradual are the best ways to go.

Always use the goggles. They may not look particularly glamorous but they’ll help protect your eyesight and preserve the delicate skin around your eyes.

Use sunbed lotion rather than ordinary suntan cream. Sunbed lotion has been especially formulated to help speed up the tanning process when using a sunbed. This will mean that you need to spend less time using your sunbed.

Don’t spend “extra” time on your sunbed hoping for a deeper, faster tan. You risk damaging your skin and that is never attractive.

By using a good moisturising cream afterwards you’ll help prolong your tan between sunbed sessions.

Hi Jill,As for the blisters…ouch!I do get blisters if I use the rower too long. I would assume your blisteresare caused by one of the following:-gripping too hard-really heavy weights-tons of reps-machines built for men with the rough textures, I always look for the soft, smooth handweights, not the metal ones.-very delicate skinI am not sure if altering any of the above would help, but you can ask your trainer to suggest exercises that use your body weight for resistance. My trainer says that weight machines are for beginners, whereas using your body and hand weights will really allow you to challenge yourself.I agree the gloves are pretty tacky, if you don't aspire to be a body builder. In any case, L'Occitane after couldn't hurt:)I am lucky to have a big bedroom, so my roommates probably don't even know I do workout videos. Although, I worry about the people on the floor below me! When I was in college, I was too embarassed to do them in our common room unless no one was home!

He's injured himself in the process though, and Chelsea will see out the last few minutes with ten men.

Some are, but some truly think that since the government is the only gov't we have, then supporting it is the only rational option.

Problems are usually caused by add-ons. My IE8 is so stable I removed Firefox altogether. Try Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools >Internet Explorer (no add ons).

See if that is more stable. If it is, you need to open IE, go to its Add On Manager, and find the addon (like toolbars and popup blockers) that could be the cause of instability.

It could be an addon or toolbar that yet needs updating or removal.
