I’ve Got A Few Summer Travel Ideas
December 11, 2009 by Tucker
If you are like me, you are watching your travel budget carefully, asking where you can go that’s interesting but affordable. Here’s an idea, how about a SoCal vacation? It’s got the beaches, theme parks, roller coasters, Hollywood and lots more.
The beautiful state of Hawaii should also be on the list, if you find a good deal on airfare. You can almost feel that warm ocean water right now, but remember that there are offsetting advantages to the Golden State. There’s a friendly comparison between vacations in California vs. Hawaii at the SoCal Vacation Guru that you might find interesting. Keep in mind that there are way fewer underwater rocks to worry about in the California surf, and the humidity and sun intensity are a little easier to handle in the summer. The water temperature is higher in the Aloha state, but in the middle of summer, the cooler water can be more refreshing.
A Hawaiian vacation does offer beautiful subtropical vegetation and fascinating Polynesian cultural experiences. But don’t forget the melting pot of many different cultures to be experienced in California, as well as the mountains, desert and coastline.
The beaches are just one of many attractions to be enjoyed in Southern California. You could spend a week checking out the seven top-notch theme parks between San Diego and Los Angeles County. You will find world-class thrill rides at Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain; the Six Flags roller coasters are particularly plentiful. You’ll discover many intimidating coasters and thrill rides at Knott’s and Six Flags. Disneyland has a few attractions that would be considered thrill rides, but not nearly as many as those other two parks.
There aren’t many roller coasters to be found in Hawaii, unless you consider wintertime surfing to qualify in that category. In terms of the budget, there may be great vacation specials to both destinations, but you can drive to California if airfare is too costly.

I am very interested to see where you go with this topic. You clearly have a great passion for it but I dont see how the name is hurting the Angels yet. I know unity of the southern california is something that is challenging as everything is so spread out but I feel like this gives southern california a baseball team to get behind and not just Anaheim or Los Angeles.

KNOTT’S BERRY FARM AND RALPHS TEAM UP TO HELP ORANGE COUNTY FOOD BANK
Requests for food assistance from local Food Banks have doubled as a result of the economic crisis. Knott’s Berry Farm has responded to soaring community needs by offering a discount for admission to theme park visitors who bring canned food items to donate at the time they purchase their admission tickets. Throughout the month of August, patrons who donate two cans of food will be able to purchase their admission ticket for $34.99. The regular adult admission is $52.99. Ralphs Grocery stores, that sell Knott’s Berry Farm tickets, are also participating in the promotion. Ralphs will donate food for each Knott’s ticket sold at their stores. All canned goods collected will be donated to the Orange County Food Bank, which will distribute that food to vulnerable people, locally.

HOAX.
Its a hoax. Don't believe everything you read…
Just because its on a website someplace does not make it true (now, I do tend to believe the LA Times when they say that blogs around the world that are citing the paper as a source are wrong…)
