The video tells me that I need to winterize, well, that I know. I whish I would tell me me how. What to do or what not to do? Can I do it with the compressor I have in the garage? With the economy the way it is, many may not be able to afford a “professional”.

it is the irrigation control system.. you have a series of pvc pipes under ground there that connect there… are there valves in there you can turn on or any solenoids? If valves (like a ballcock) you can turn them on manually, if a solenoid, you should have a timer or switch in your garage or possibly in a box mounted to your house.

    /edit
don't fill it with water! it connects to your water supply somewhere, and there is a way to turn it on somewhere (or else the valve has been broken off, or the timer was removed) Filling it with water will do nothing except (if it is solenoid driven) short out the electrical (if it is not well sealed).

Contact a local irrigation company (undergroun sprinklers) and have them look at it, they can tell you where to turn it on, if it is operational, etc.

Hi Mike–thanks for the comment. In extreme cases like the one you mentioned, I would say that one needs no other authority to preach than the need of him and his neighbor (wife and children). I think Luther said something like that.

I do not think that it is necessary for them to have the Eucharist. In that case the Word of God would be sufficient food for their souls, and the comfort of their baptism. As we say with baptism, it is not the lack of baptism that damns, but the lack of faith. Where one is not able to receive baptism, it is enough that they believe in the Son of God. Same with the Sacrament: they are not despising it by not being able to receive it.

I told a soldier this who was from my congregation and was deployed to Iraq. He asked if he should take communion at the Protestant service. I said he should not, but that he could by all means listen to the Word. Hope that helps and that I don't sound like too much of a heretic.
