A vacation in the tropical islands of Hawaii! Sun and beaches and a lovely time: Hawaii gives you these and more as a perfect vacation destination. It is next to paradise and what is more, traveling to Hawaii is easy and hassle-free. What about accommodations there, you might ask. There are many affordable Hawaii rentals available which you can book online or offline right from your home.

To enjoy your vacation, select from the numerous choices available with Hawaii rentals such as cottages, beachfront hotels, resorts and condos. There are rentals that will meet every budget and every need. Many Hawaii rentals offers discounts if you book sufficiently in advance and there are discounts for specific seasons and for group bookings. Vacation rentals in Hawaii are not expensive and offer a range of services tailor-made to different types of vacationers. Couples on honeymoon especially like to rent cottages for that intimate ambience and coziness.

The island of Maui is what we suggest as the best base for your vacation. It is the second largest island in Hawaii and has a fewer people than one would think. Maui offers more ‘privacy’ and you will have a pleasant vacation in a less crowded setting. Maui vacation rentals can be booked online whether they be a bungalow, cabin, condominium or a house — your choice. A friendly and non intrusive people make your stay here even more pleasurable.

The best way to make your holiday memorable is to stay at a Maui vacation rental close to the adventures you will want to experience. From this base you are within short distance to kayaking, deep-sea fishing, diving or climbing. There are 80 different beaches to stroll or sunbathe or you can engage in a bit if golfing. Maui, nicknamed the ‘Valley Isle’, offers climbers an extinct, volcanic crater from top of which one can experience a fabulous panoramic view of the island.

Besides island-wide helicopter flights, Maui is home to an international airport along with two other smaller airports. Maui is fascinating and absolutely gorgeous and visitors feel very much at ease as English is spoken and the American Dollar is the medium of exchange. Credit cards are also accepted everywhere adding to your comfort.

In addition to Maui, there are other Hawaiian islands, each with a distinct character and selection of activities and scenery. On Kauai you can see the Napali Coast where a number of famous movies were made, while Oahu is renowned for Diamond Head and it’s north shore beaches with some of the world’s largest waves. The Big Island is famous for it’s world-class sport fishing off the Kona coast. If you want to sightsee or enjoy day on one of the other islands, boat shuttles leave from Maui, Lanai and Molokai.

My compliments on your question and for showing a maturity level not often seen these days

Even though snorkeling is more enjoyable when it is a shared activity, there are situations where you may be the only one that wants to snorkel.
If this is the case, it is a good idea to take some additional precautions, one of which is to where a highly visible snorkeling vest.

This will make you easier to spot for anyone looking from shore or a boat. The vest is usually worn deflated or partially inflated. if you get tired out you can inflate it orally to allow you to rest, relax and recover.

Having a whistle with you is also a wise idea should you encounter a problem and need assistance. Some vests have whistles like this one

but most don't have whistles. Make sure the whistle isn't made of shiny metal as we humans tend to use shiny things as fishing lures. This is also a good reason not to wear jewelry while swimming or snorkeling in the ocean.

Having someone you know on the beach is always advisable but letting someone know where you will be snorkeling, how long you plan to be out there and when you expect to be back should always be a part of your snorkel plan.

LOL – I admire your determination. Honestly, I don't think MB would have let us miss our last ditch “childless” trip to the islands either.

She went w/the bikini though, and burn the baby belly. :( It was still a good trip… the bar tender just laughed every afternoon when we stopped in, giving her a “virgin” drink (big island laugh, cause clearly, that was no longer the case) and me an extra – cause I “was drinking for 2″

Damon – My primary reservations are that the proposed Re-charging stations that have been mapped out here on the Big Island will not be feasible at all. They are too spread out and at locations that are not real convenient for most Big Island Drivers. We will be driving close to 30-40 miles just to get a charge if the locations remain where they are currently scheduled to be in place.

This would work on a smaller island such as Oahu… but only 4 charging stations planned for the entire Big Island and they are just too spread out.]]>
