Good Time For A Patio Heater

February 1, 2009 by

Even though the calendar says winter as I write this, it’s actually been pretty nice outside, so it would be a great time to have a gathering outdoors and not wait until the official arrival of spring or summer. Alas, the evenings are pretty chilly and it would not be nice to suffer the cold air after the sun sets. It would be very convenient to purchase a outdoor propane heater and get some warmth for my loved ones.

Patio heaters and deck heaters can easily warm up a cool night. They are available in several sizes and styles for residential or commercial use. Prices can range from $30 for a baseboard heater to $700 for big gas heater. You can easily identify these devices, because most patio heaters use single-dome constructions. Colder days will make them easy to find, but warm weather will make it hard for you to find them in stores. These products are seasonal merchandise.

A lot of heaters have around 40,000 BTUs, premium construction, strong stainless steel burner and quite easy assembly procdure. They are often fitted with a high quality upgraded stainless steel burner producing enough power to heat a group of 10 to 15 people or a table of 8 seated. It’s best to pick a heater that has a 360 degree radius, so everyone gets the same amount of heat.

Of course children should not operate patio heaters or be left unattended near one. These products are safe, but they are still hot in certain areas and should not ne touched.

Heaters are very convenient things to have. Some would consider it a luxury, but if you’re in an area that could use one and you like to spend as much time outdoors as possible, then think about this as an item to purchase this year.

I am not sure the salt cavern needs to be near the wind (or solar), but rather I think it needs to be roughly on the power lines between the wind farm and the people who use the power. On a related note – can you take west Texas wind power, and use it to fill the natural gas salt caverns with hydrogen, and then simply pump the hydrogen into the exsiting Natural gas pipeline network? Obviously the losses would be higher, but not using the hydrogen to regenerate electricity reduces these losses somewhat. It is also nice having a gas heater when the electricity is out.

Well this is how it really works. the gas burns behind ceramic blocks in a combustion chamber the heat is radiated from the ceramic on the front side.
