Fleet Insurance

Are you debating whether to go green with your fleet?
The good news is that going green with your fleet can generate savings that will improve your bottom line over time, while earning your business a better reputation.
How will this choice affect your fleet insurance?
Fleet insurance companies consider these hybrid vehicles as equals to their diesel and petrol counterparts.
Therefore your fleet insurance policies will not be affected adversely when you make the decision to help protect the environment.
Tips for Green Fleet Management from Cover4commercial:
Assess your current fleet performance taking into account the mileage, fuel consumption, average mpg both per vehicle and driver, destination and reasons for travel, and the overall costs.
Then identify the areas which can be improved –
- Are the vehicles all as efficient as they could be for the specific needs?
- How can mileage be reduced?
- How well maintained is the vehicle?
- Can alternative fuels be used?
- Does your company’s current mileage allowance encourage an increase in mileage claims?
- Would your employees benefit from more driver training?
- What are the CO2 emission levels and Euro standards of the vehicles?
After assessing and identifying the areas for improvement, set yourself realistic targets, such as unnecessary business travel and monitoring and reducing fuel consumption.
Continue to monitor your performance over time, which will enable you continue to make both financial and environmental savings over time.

I've met my State Farm agent. We did business with him before he had agents working in his office.
Geico denied us auto insurance, back when my SO was 25-ish, because I bought a sports car – a Triumph TR6. A car that would get out of it's own way with a good tailwind. Meanwhile Geico had been insuring the GTO without a whimper.
State Farm was happy to have us AND they were cheaper. So now they have our autos, house, umbrella policy. Once upon a time we had enough cars and motorcycles to qualify for fleet insurance.
Our agent now has a big enough clientele that he no longer does the agent stuff, he does the fun stuff. Like travel around measuring client's homes and assessing the insurability thereof, rather than trusting the folks to be correct about where the nearest fire hydrant and firehouse are. Which was my last interaction with him, 8 years ago
Not much credible business travel along proposed inter-city train routes esp in era of leafy suburban corporate HQs, iPads and videoconferencing to reduce unnecessary business travel and costs
But that would too logical for the commies and union parasites who advocate a “green”, tax-the-rich agenda, but can afford to fly to Thailand and other distant, 3rdWorld places for their own vacations, ultimately subsidized by other US taxpayers, much like urban mass transit for poors, Luddites and tourists
Re: “Dion’s move completely legitimate”
Dion expressed allegiance to Elizabeth the Second.
Elizabeth the Second is not Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, contrary to the requirement in this Fifth Schedule, which states:
“Oath of Allegiance
I A.B. do swear, That I will be faithful and bear true Allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Victoria.
Note. The Name of the King or Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland for the Time being is to be substituted from Time to Time, with proper Terms of Reference thereto.”.
The provinces of Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick expressed their desire to be federally united into one Dominion under the Crown of the “United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland”, not the Crown of the “United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland”, according to the British North America Act, 1867.

I disagree with that statement. Traveling for business is completely different than traveling for pleasure. Business travel usually takes people to places that they may not normally go for a vacation. While they are there, they are conducting business for most of the day and do not have a lot of time to sightsee or enjoy free time. But if you travel for pleasure, you will choose to go where you "want" to go – not where you "have" to go. You can go somewhere to just lie on the beach – can't do that for business (unless you have a job I'd love to have!). You can go on a cruise or take a driving trip to somewhere you've never been. You can fly to Europe and take trains through different countries. This all requires travel, but classifying it as "unnecessary" is not completely accurate. Vacations are not considered a necessity, but if you consider the time spent on a vacation is a reward for all your hard work during the year, a time to relax and spend time "me" time, and a time to cherish with your family, then it is necessary.
So avoiding "unnecessary" travel is depriving yourself (and your family, if applicable) of seeing the world, experiencing new things, and getting the most out of life!

I agree. I travel for business and I have grown to dislike it very much, especially since I have a family and it is time that I will never have again. So I avoid any unnecessary travel at all costs.
