Finding Amazing Rug Pads

March 5, 2010 by

Overtime, even the most durable rugs show signs of aging. Obviously this is like felt rug pads. Although the rug is what you see on the surface, there is much more that goes into the actual installation process. A rug pad cushions your rug and acts as a buffer, keeping it from being constantly smashed.

Adding a rug pad under any area rug will increase the comfort that area rug provides. Over time, dirt drops down between the holes to lie underneath your rug. But has little, or nothing, to do with Oriental rug pads usually. If your rug is simply laid on top of wood or concrete, it is going to wear quickly.

Replacing wall-to-wall carpet is expensive and very time consuming. When vacuuming your rug, having your rug held off the floor will bring air underneath your rug, helping your vacuum be more efficient and your rug looking great. This is similar to carpet rug pad frequently. There is nothing worse than a rug that is not laying flush on the ground.

Another great thing about rug pads is the fact that they help prevent bacteria from building up in your home. Over time, friction can rub through the finish of your floor. This may only be a thin layer of protection, but you will definitely be able to notice the difference when you are walking in your bare or sock feet.

Rug pads do a terrific job of holding area rugs of any sort: seagrass, shag rugs, sisal rugs, wool rugs, jute rugs, even bamboo rugs-any type of area you can imagine, a rug pad can help secure. You don’t want the rug pad to show, so it should be cut to be at least 1/2″ smaller all the way around. You want to make sure that you get a rug pad that is of high quality, and of course, one that is known to get the job done. The benefits of rug pads far exceed the inexpensive price of acquiring them as they are very affordable.

Well, you've probably never seen me in sock feet, so, yes, I would be about six feet and a quarter inch to you.

Do you think there are others who do prefer long collective readings? “Overdrawn” is a good word, IMO. I relate, of course!

I'd work until it measured 3-1/2" while lying flat and smooth on a smooth, hard surface. On my foot, I'd verify the sock had reached the top of my instep and the edge of my heel area.
