Find a Hotel in Banff

October 6, 2009 by

If you are planning a trip to the Canadian Rockies you will find there is a large selection of hotels in Banff Albera. In the Canadian Rockies there are several rustic back country lodges where one can get in touch with nature, being that many of these lodges don’t have running water or electricity. Young travelers will find plenty of hostels to choose from in Banff that are fine if you don’t mind shared bathroom facilities.

You will also find the standard roadside motels that are quite common along long stretches of highway in the US. Small bed and breakfasts can be found in the city as well as in the surrounding area. One can also find larger Discount Banff Hotels that offer luxurious resort hotels with lots of first class conveniences. The historic mountain resorts will give visitors a taste of old Canada prior to modernization.

For travelers whose focus is on outdoor activities many of the larger resort hotels offer horseback riding lessons, tennis courts, swimming pools, hot tubs, golf courses, boat rentals, business centers, fine dining and guided hike tours within the national park. Most other resorts and hotels offer few amenities and prefer to remain without the modern conveniences in the hotel rooms.

It’s hardest to find a hotel in Banff AB between the months of June to September so make your hotel reservations well in advance. Banff is also a popular travel destination over the Christmas and New Years holiday season. During the winter ski season many hotels pack out with visitors who are eager to ski on the many slopes the surrounding mountain areas have to offer.

Not one municipal government with the possible exception of Banff, AB currently has a cap on its size.

All mayors are growthist and their goals are to gradually inch their community closer and closer to the size of Toronto.

The results are predictable: higher taxes, water pollution, local fisheries collapse, song bird decimation, biodiversity loss, claustrophobia, stress from lack of privacy and urban noise, air pollution, litter and trash everywhere, no more backyards, and overall loss of quality of life.

The entire population of a community suffers so that a few developers and the mayor can pocket the short-term profits of growth while taxpayers foot the bill and wildlife pays the fatal price.

That announcer was a gentleman by the name of Foster Hewitt. He began his career around 1925 broadcasting on radio. He began his broadcasts with this phrase because Newfoundland didn't join confederation until 1949. He also coined the phrase "he shoots – he scores".

Probably his most memorable broadcasts were the Canada/Russia Summit Series of 1972. CBC asked him to come out of retirement to announce the eight game series.

Most don't even know we [America] are providing aid For years we were giving aid to Thailand their had their military take over and by U S law we had to cut our aid The same ex-brits and Thais who told me ''you Americans only pretend to help'' were now saying ''why do you know how hard you Americans are making it for these poor people?'' We were not pretending we were giving them $250,000,000 per year
    Its a waste of money
As an aside when the brits would leave the pub/bar the Thai's would tell me ''their just upset you are the world power and they are not''
